Glasgow’s new John Wheatley college situated in the East end of the city is built around a bright social space surrounded by curtain wall screens supplied by Charles Henshaw Ltd. The specification called for over 30 automatic opening windows linked to the BEMS to provide constant variable airflow through the space. Wm Brown & Co. supplied and fitted the actuators and controllers giving the Building Management System total control and eliminating the need for air conditioning.
One of the challenges we faced was concealling so much cabling within the curtain wall section but with a bit of thought and a lot of work we managed it.
